lazy chef's dream come true! Picture this: a rich, flavorful bowl of goodness that practically makes itself. I'm talking minimal effort, maximum taste
Servings 8
Equipment
- crock pot
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 can black beans
- 1 can whole kernel corn
- 2 packets chili seasoning they have this in all the food stores, i like to go with the lower sodium option!
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 small onion
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 can tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- french's fried onions optional for topping
- sour cream for topping
- shredded cheddar for topping
Instructions
- **Brown the Beef:**In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- **Dice the Veggies:**chop your veggies into small pieces
- **Transfer to Crock-Pot:**Transfer the cooked beef and the chopped veggies to your Crock-Pot.
- **Add Beans, Tomatoes and Corn:** Pour in the undrained chili beans, drained kidney beans, drained black beans, and corn kernels, along with the jars of tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes.
- **Chili Sauce Magic:**Pour in the chili sauce to give your chili that extra zing. Stir everything in the Crock-Pot to combine.
- **Season It Up:**Sprinkle the two packets of chili seasoning evenly over the mixture. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is distributed throughout. If needed add ½ cup of water if the mixture is too thick.
- **Set and Forget:**Cover the Crock-Pot with its lid and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. This slow-cooking magic allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- **Serve and Enjoy:**Once the chili is ready, ladle it into bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions. Serve with a side of crusty bread or tortilla chips. My FAV secret ingredient to top my chili with is french's fried onions!! It's sooo yummy and adds the perfect crunch.
- **Leftovers? No Problem:**This chili gets even better with time! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and you'll have delicious meals ready for days to come.
