Beef Stew
a traditional comfort food dish, with untraditional seasoning blends. Packed with flavor, will have you coming back for seconds and thirds!
Servings 6
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 2 packets italian seasoning
- 1 packet ranch seasoning
- 1.5 lb stew meat
- 1 onion
- 4 celery stalks
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ stick butter
I like to serve this OVER mashed potatoes, but if youd prefer to add them in, add them with the carrots
Instructions
- mix together 1 packet of italian seasoning, ½ packet of the ranch seasoning, and the all purpose flour in a bowl.
- add the stew meat to the bowl and coat it well with flour, then set aside.
- chop veggies
- in a large pot or dutch oven, melt butter and add coated meat, cook until slightly browned.
- drizzle a small amount of oil and add onions, garlic & celery. mix well and let cook for about 5 min
- in a measuring cup or small bowl add 2 cups beef broth, 1 packet of italian seasoning & the remainder of the ranch seasoning and mix it well.
- pour over the beef, all beef must be covered, if you need to add more broth do so.
- mix well, add carrots, cover and reduce heat to low. let cook for 1.5 hours mixing every 20 min or so.
- once fully cooked and veggies are soft, if needed to be thickened mix 2 parts water to 1 part flour into a bowl and add it slowly to the stew (only if needed)
- serve over mashed potatoes & with biscuits! enjoy this yummy rainy day stew!
Notes
potatoes can be added instead of serving it over the mashed potatoes. i prefer it over the mashed potatoes but if adding into the stew add them when you add the carrots.
