HOLIDAY APPETIZER- Spinach Artichoke Christmas Tree
Ingredients
- 1 block cream cheese
- 1.5 cups fresh grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozz cheese
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 bag frozen chopped spinach thawed and water squeezed out
- 1 can chopped artichokes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pie crust
- 1 egg
Instructions
- preheat oven to 350
- Prepare the Spinach and Artichokes:
- Thaw the frozen chopped spinach and squeeze out any excess moisture. Chop the drained artichoke hearts into small pieces.
- Mix the Cheesy Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, artichoke hearts, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, and minced garlic.
- Shape the Christmas Tree:
- On the prepared baking sheet with parchment paper, roll out the pie crust and cut into 2 christmas tree shapes
- Add the Cheesy Filling:
- Spoon the cheesy spinach and artichoke mixture onto the dough, spreading it evenly over the tree shape.
- Place the 2nd tree shape over top, and make slices along the sides to create the branches. Once each side is sliced carefully twist each branch.
- Egg wash- scramble one egg and wash the top of the tree creation with it
- Bake to Perfection:
- Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until the Christmas tree is golden brown.
- Serve and Enjoy:
